Privacy Policy

Stub is an app that keeps your TV and film watch history, ratings and shows safe — and shows them right back to you. This policy explains what data Stub stores, why, who we share it with, and how you can remove it. We keep it short and plain because that is the honest way to do it.

What we store

• Your account. An email address and a community handle you choose. Stub is passwordless: to sign in, we email you a one-time code. We store that code in hashed form only, and it expires quickly.
• Your library. The shows and films you import — for example from your TV Time data export. This includes titles, your watch progress (seasons and episodes), favourites, your watchlist, and stats we derive from it such as genres and networks.
• Social activity (optional). If you use the social features: who you follow, your activity, and reactions. If you don't use them, we don't create this data.

What we do with it

We use your data only to run the service: to show you your history, track your progress, and power the features you choose to use. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Third parties

• The Movie Database (TMDB). We fetch poster images and metadata from TMDB to display your shows and films. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• Email delivery. We use an email provider to send your one-time sign-in codes and essential service messages.
• Hosting. Your data is stored on our own servers in the European Union.

The getstub.tv website

On this website (separate from the app) we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used. These run only after you accept — if you decline, no analytics cookies are set.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and everything associated with it at any time, from within the app. Deletion is permanent and immediate: your account, imported library, lists, follows, activity and reactions are all removed, and your email and handle are freed up again.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. The quickest route for deletion is the in-app option above. For anything else, contact us and we'll help.

Children

Stub is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
